Posted in Uncategorized on 14.12.11 by Merlyn

The right nutritional plan will help bodybuilders achieve their long-term and short-term goals. Mastering the basics of any endeavor is the key to achieving anything in life. This is true in regard to bodybuilding and finding the right diet when you are weight training. Understanding fundamental nutrition information is the key to achieving your goals in this endeavor. You also need to do what you have learned every day. You must take the basics you have learned and implement them every day. The best nutritional plan for bodybuilders will be discussed in this article.

All bodybuilders need to be aware of what is called, muscle deflation syndrome. That phenomenon occurs when too many carbohydrates are eliminated from the diet.

Removing carbohydrates from your diet is thought to help reduce body fat. While that can be true, you risk robbing your muscles of much needed water as well as glycogen. This lack of carbohydrates, therefore, will cause your muscles to become smaller. By moderating how many carbohydrates that you eat, your muscles will have enough glycogen to work with.

One of the first goals that you must determine when you are just starting out is your best daily caloric intake. That number needs to be ideal for you because your body is unique, and your needs are unique as well. 15 calories per pound of body weight is one guideline that is often used. Don’t forget that you must configure that number to your body weight because it is only a place to begin. Also remember that it is not just how you look that should be a basis for your decisions. It is critical that you also assess how you feel because that will tell you a lot. Your decision must help you feel vibrant and alive and not sluggish and slow.

Your body will compensate if you do not consume enough proteins by removing muscle mass The problem is easy to identify especially if you are trying to gain muscle mass.

This will not happen if 35% of the calories that you ingest are protein-based. It is as simple as eating enough protein in order to gain muscle mass instead of lose it. The benefit of maintaining this kind of balance is that your body fat percentage will be lower and your muscle mass will be higher. If you consume good protein every day, you’ll definitely see positive results.

Bodybuilders must ensure that their nutritional needs are met and that they consume everything in the right proportions. This is partly an individual matter, such as discovering the ideal number of carbs you should be consuming. Overdoing it in this area will give you excess fat. Yet if you eat too few, you risk losing muscle mass rather than fat.

These particular weight loss tips are usually helpful to gain muscle mass and also to lose weight safely. Why You Should Eat More Live Foods

Posted in Uncategorized on 08.12.11 by Merlyn

Living foods are foods that are essentially raw, like pears, apples, bananas, and all other types of fruits and vegetables . It really isn’t rocket science. Focus on a raw food diet if you want more energy, eating foods that are high in energy and that leave you throughout the day with a sustained level of energy . Natural whole foods will always give you more energy, and sustained energy throughout the day, because they don’t cause a quick surge and crash of blood sugar . They also provide you with essential food enzymes, which enable better digestion, greater amounts of life force, and vital nutrients which do not exist (at least not to the same degree) in cooked and processed foods .

The other big reason that natural whole foods–specifically raw foods–give you more energy is that they are a very high source of alkalinity . This is important because when your body is alkaline–specifically your blood–it functions as it should . This is in contrast to what most people experience in the Western world. Most Westerners’ diets are acidic in nature . They consume lots of animal products, processed foods, grains, and sugars, all of which leave an acid residue in the blood . This becomes a big problem as our blood needs to be slightly alkaline–the opposite of acidic – to perform its duties .

So how does an alkaline bloodstream give us more energy ?

Well the answer is quite simple.  Our blood is alkaline when our red blood cells are able to freely flow and deliver oxygen to the cells within our body . When this happens as it should, then we are in state whereby our body produces energy almost effortlessly . It’s almost like driving on the highway at 3 AM–when there is very little traffic . Conversely,  our red blood cells clump together and don’t flow freely throughout the body when the blood is acidic .  Our cells do not get the oxygen they require to produce energy as a result . This is the fundamental physiological reason why you can feel either lethargic or energetic .  What’s happening in your blood is a direct reflection of the foods you are eating .  So focus on eating an alkaline-rich diet if you want to improve your energy .  very simply this means adding more vegetables and fruits in their raw state into your body  , a raw food diet.

So here are a couple examples to help you out… Water

Most people are lethargic, tired, and have headaches because they’re dehydrated . You improve your body’s hydration and allow it to use the water it requires by simply drinking more water . A general rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight in pounds, in ounces. So if you weigh 180 pounds, you would drink 90 ounces of water per day. If you are exercising you will need more water - this is ideal only in a resting state .

And that leads me to my next recommendation… Eat more of a raw food diet.  As we mentioned previously, raw foods are water rich .  This is because the foods have not lost their water due to the process of cooking .  Plus, instead of worrying about how much water you should be drinking every day, simply add more fruits and vegetables into your diet and you’ll automatically get all the water you need .  Making fresh juices or smoothies is a simple way of doing this .  So here is one of my favorite smoothie recipes that is sure to energize you at any point of the day :

1 banana

1 Apple

1 pear

1 head of Boston or romaine lettuce

1/2 a handful of parsley

the juice of ½ a lime

2 to 3 cups of water- Simply blend all ingredients together in a blender and enjoy.
